It makes sense that a crime that makes big news that is a particularly heinous crime would cause that inmate to get ostracized in prison, because it’s in the news.

However, some inmates commit ugly crimes that would not make big time news – so why would they get ostracized? How do other inmates know what crime they committed?

I’ve seen documentary shows where the inmates had cable television! I understand allowing prisoners to do things that may prepare them for life out in the real world (getting their GED, reading, learning how to cook, etc.). But sometimes I think it just gets ridiculous!
